15th Anniversary of the Supramental Descent – Darshan Day
This significant day was observed at the Nairobi Centre of Sri Aurobindo Society. The program began with the Mother’s Prayer of July 6, 1914. There was collective recitation of Sri Aurobindo’s Gayatri Mantra followed by reading of the Darshan message from the Ashram. After that, the Mother’s Words were read out as to what happened on 29th February 1956 and there was then recitation from Sri Aurobindo’s Savitri on the coming humanity. This was followed by half an hour meditation accompanied by 1969’s music. Copies of the darshan message and prasad were distributed among the devotees present.

The Mother’s Birth Anniversary – Darshan Day
The celebrations started off at Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, Nairobi with renditions of ‘Aahvan’ to the Mother and Sri Aurobindo, followed by Sri Aurobindo’s Gayatri Mantra. The Mother’s Prayer of 21st February 1914 was read out. There was recital of The Adoration of the Divine Mother from Savitri after which Darshan Message of the day from Sri Aurobindo Ashram was read out and also the words of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as to how to observe Darshan Days taken from All India Magazine of January 2016. An article – Babblings of a child, from the book, Blessings of The Grace by Mona Sarkar – was also read out followed by half an hour meditation. Copies of Darshan Message and Prasad were distributed. There were 35 devotees present on this occasion.

1 January
Nairobi Centre of Sri Aurobindo Society ushered in the new year with readings of The Mother’s Prayer of new year and the New Year message from Sri Aurobindo Ashram followed by half an hour meditation accompanied by Sunilda’s music. There was distribution of the copies of the new year message and Ashram calendars to 23 devotees present. After that there was prasad for everyone.

28 Nov: Nairobi Centre presented two thousand and two hundred booklets in twelve different titles to M.P.Shah Hospital, Nairobi at Sri Aurobindo Bhavan. The booklets were received by the PR and Marketing Manager and Director of Operations of the hospital. The booklets will be distributed among the hospital staff, doctors. They will be kept in various departments of the hospital, in the hospital wards and also in the reception area of outpatients clinic.

I would like us to make the resolution to raise ourselves each day, in all sincerity and goodwill, in an ardent aspiration towards the Sun of Truth, towards the Supreme Light, the source and intellectual life of the universe, so that it may pervade us entirely and illumine with its great brilliance our minds and hearts, all our thoughts and actions.
